스페이사이드 아벨라워 인근의 글렌알라키는 풍부한 셰리 캐스크 숙성으로 새롭게 주목받는 증류소다. PX 펀천에서 21년을 보낸 이 보틀링은 짙은 적갈색을 머금는다. 향은 말린 대추야자와 흑설탕, 구운 견과류가 또렷이 드러난다. 입에서는 51.1도의 힘이 페드로 히메네스 특유의 진한 단맛과 다크 초콜릿, 정향을 묵직하게 입을 채운다. 끈적한 건과일의 단맛이 쌉쌀한 오크와 함께 길고 진하게 머문다.

soft at first, leaf mulch, lemon polenta cake, old madeira, fir wood sap and hardwood resins. Indeed, it maintains this rather lofty and fragrant profile that encompasses sandalwood, dried herbs, bergamot, espresso and over time some rather dense notes of bitter orange marmalade. Clean, rich and rather complex. With water: many more orange notes emerge. Mandarin, crystallised orange, orange tea etc… there’s also some attractively savoury earthy and umami notes as well

Rather a lot of bitter herbal extracts, cloves and walnut oil now. With water: brown bread spread with treacle, toasted walnuts, Irish coffee, bitter lemon and more of these nicely punchy herbal bitters
