잔을 흔들어 향을 깨우면 벤리네스 15년이 다크니스 피니시에서 마셔 들인 진한 올로로소 단맛을 풀어 놓는다. 잔을 코끝에 가져가면 마른 자두와 호두 껍질의 셰리 노트가 또렷이 드러난다. 한 모금을 머금으면 53.3도의 도수가 다크 초콜릿과 가죽의 풀바디 질감으로 입천장을 천천히 덮는다. 마지막에는 잎담배의 마른 잔향이 입가에 머문다.

With water: chocolate and coffee up. Reminiscent of Macallan’s first Gran Reservas, but perhaps a little better. Malaga raisins, chocolate liqueur and Kahlua. I hope you get the picture!

very long, and extremely chocolaty. We’re actually rather closer to Macallan’s older Macallan 10 yo 'Cask Strength'. By the way, did you see their impressive new distillery? Hope they’ll manage to make traditional Mac again up there! Without paxarette, naturally…
