잔을 흔들어 향을 코끝으로 끌어올리면 흔한 글렌그란트와 달리 풀과 광물, 금속의 서늘한 기운이 먼저 다가온다. 더 들이마시면 흙과 그을음, 낡은 연장과 아마씨유 같은 오래된 향이 겹겹이 드러난다. 한 모금 머금으면 후추와 철분의 날카로운 첫인상에 레몬그라스와 시큼한 시트러스가 뒤따르고 기름진 질감이 혀를 감싼다. 1995년 호그스헤드에서 25년을 보낸 이 위스키를 삼키면 노랑 자몽의 쌉쌀함이 길고 강하게 남는다.
