테이스팅 노트
깊은 금빛이 잔 속에 그윽하게 잠긴다. 스페이사이드 글렌 그란트가 1962년 증류된 옛 보틀링으로 40도의 순한 도수를 지녔다. 코에는 뜻밖의 피트와 상쾌한 민트, 무화과와 금귤, 밀랍과 가죽이 겹겹이 피어난다. 뒤이어 광택제와 오래된 책 같은 마른 뉘앙스가 층층이 드러난다. 입에서는 소금기와 쌉쌀한 허브, 크렘 드 망트의 청량함이 또렷하게 번진다. 옛 시절 증류의 흔적인 은은한 페놀이 인상적으로 살아 있다. 여운은 건조하고 살짝 금속적인 훈연과 짭짤한 뉘앙스가 이어진다.

peat indeed! Not a raw and roaring peat of course, but I’m sure the whisky was quite peaty when it was distilled. Second good news: no weakness, no lightness, no wobbliness at 40% or (now) a little less. Splendid mint again, putty, metal polish, figs, kumquats, beeswax, leather, cough syrup (evolved peat?), a little antiseptic… Now, it does tend to become a little more cardboardy or ‘old-bookish’, but that also comes with more mint, verbena, aniseed, dill or even… straight absinth? Quite fabuloso
restaurant 맛 (팔레트)
ha! This baby is tireless and it’s even big, imagine… There’s a saltiness, bitter herbs, crème de menthe… All quite superb. However the middle is a notch weaker, kind of jumbled up, and what comes out after that is more salt and bitter oils. I’d have never said this was Glen Grant
timer 피니시
of medium length, very phenolic, dry, slightly metallic, smoky. Salty aftertaste. Also chlorophyll and agaves
