잔을 흔들어 향을 풀면 클라이넬리시 특유의 밀랍과 꿀, 옅은 소금기가 코끝에 먼저 닿는다. 잘 익은 과일과 바닐라가 그 위로 산뜻하게 깔린다. 한 모금 머금으면 50.6도의 또렷한 기운이 혀를 감싸며 왁스 같은 질감과 시트러스, 가벼운 후추가 번진다. 18년을 보낸 하이랜드 해안 위스키의 균형을 삼키면, 기름진 왁스와 미네랄의 여운이 길게 이어진다.

Demerara sugar, marmalade, then citrons, bananas flambéed, toasted pastries… The spirit’s zesty side manages to shine through after a few seconds, like Moses splitting the Red Sea, and the whole becomes zestier and more ‘Clynelish’.
