테이스팅 노트
아일라 남부 해안의 강렬한 토탄으로 이름난 아드벡의 1991 빈티지다. 버번 캐스크에서 25년을 보내 옅은 황금빛을 띤다. 오랜 숙성이 누그러뜨린 코에서는 토탄 연기와 레몬, 옅은 바닐라가 우아하게 어우러진다. 입에서는 그을린 피트와 시트러스, 백후추가 매끄럽게 흐르고 49.8도가 균형을 잡는다. 여운은 부드러운 훈연과 미네랄이 길게 이어진다.

much, much rounder, and softer than the Chieftain’s, and that’s the bigger oak. But it’s also got this superb sourness that could be found in many an Ardbeg, something like old apple juice infused with hessian and just, yeah, coal tar. So it seems to be fatter, and even a little more manure-y. More from the countryside, if you prefer

big and strong, very salty, and very ‘green’, in a good way. I’m finding capers, green olives, green liquorice, then a little lemon-flavoured sour cream and this dirtiness that works so well. In fact, it’s a little unlikely and yogurty, but that works extremely well. A great flaw, as they say (who, who says that?) And more capers, many more briny capers…
