테이스팅 노트
잔을 천천히 돌리면 1978 빈티지 아드벡의 짙은 황금빛이 잔 벽을 따라 흐른다. 코끝에 가져가면 25년의 시간 덕에 부드러워진 피트연기 위로 시트러스 껍질과 짭조름한 바닷바람이 또렷이 깃들어 있다. 한 모금을 머금으면 46도의 균형 잡힌 알코올이 타르와 훈제된 레몬, 옅은 꿀을 입천장에 풀어놓는다. 삼킬 때 묵은 재와 마른 허브가 길게 따라온다.

it's an easier whisky than the 1966, with more fruits and herbs and less sooty/tarry notes. Typical good Ardbeg from the years when the output wasn't hugely peated, not too far from the well-known official 1978s, only with more kick. Quite some burning grass, apples and fresh walnuts... Then hints of clay and maybe touches of curry. No monster despite the coffin it was delivered in

starts relatively easy, almost smooth, but the peat blast is soon to happen. It's not very complex, but it's very complete (right, try again S.) with a sooty peatiness, fresh almonds, some lemon, green apples, touches of salt and a little pine resin. Gets rather more briny and kippery after that
