리필 호그스헤드에서 18년을 보낸 세월이 1991년 빈티지 아드벡의 거친 피트를 한층 둥글게 다듬었다. 리필 캐스크답게 우드의 간섭이 옅어 코에는 정제된 피트 연기와 바닷내, 레몬 껍질이 맑게 드러난다. 입에서는 50도의 도수가 그을린 장작과 굴 같은 미네랄을 차분하게 펼치고 옅은 바닐라가 균형을 잡는다. 밝은 볏짚빛을 지나 여운에는 재와 소금기가 오래 머문다.

The whole is superb, without anything ‘excessively modern’ (read bourbonny). With water: yeah! Wet dog (how much do we owe you, dogs?), oysters, kelp, hessian, tar, fisherman’s boat… High class

excellent! Perfect combination of peat, salty stuff (okay, brine), peat, liquorice, sweet candies (liquorice alsorts) and cough syrup. We aren’t too far from some older versions of Ardbeg, with hints at ‘the 1970s’. With water: fab! Enough said
