1990년에 증류된 아드벡을 10년 담아낸 이 올드 몰트 캐스크는 옅은 볏짚빛이 잔 안에서 맑게 빛난다. 향은 바닷가 모닥불 연기와 요오드, 짭조름한 소금기가 거침없이 피어오른다. 58도의 도수는 입안에서 그을린 피트와 후추, 레몬 껍질을 강렬하게 드러낸다. 어린 시절의 아드벡다운 날선 기운이 살아 있고, 여운은 재와 해초의 잔향이 오래도록 깊게 머문다.

what can I say? It’s young unaltered Ardbeg from the early 1990s in all its pure, zesty, smoky glory, and the first thing I enjoy a lot here is the absence of any modern sweetish vanilla notes. Crystalline, very peaty, ashy, moderately briny and more medicinal than the average Laphroaig – but weren’t the good people from Laphroaig operating Ardbeg at the time? Oh, do I detect a little coconut now? I must be dreaming… With water: I was dreaming. Pure, clean, crystalline young Ardbeg. Lovable

absolutely perfect, ultra-zesty, oily, lemony, salty, very smoky, very ‘Ardbeg’. Pure unadulterated young peaty spirit, what’s not to love in this little monster? With water: simply perfect and perfectly simple. Ahem
