테이스팅 노트
스페이사이드 벤 리네스 산자락의 청량한 공기와 광물 풍부한 물이 1969 빈티지에 깊이 응축되었다. 잔에는 진한 적갈색이 잔잔히 잠겨 있다. 향은 셰리 캐스크가 빚어낸 말린 자두와 호두, 다크 초콜릿이 또렷이 깃들어 있고 가죽과 시거 잎이 따라붙는다. 입에서는 20년의 시간이 만들어낸 무화과 잼과 캔디드 오렌지가 두꺼운 질감으로 흐르며 58.2도가 깊은 골격을 만든다. 가죽과 향신료가 길게 이어진다.

we’re pretty much in the style of the SMWS at very first nosing, but this one goes then much more toward gunpowder, flints and bitter chocolate, so toward a very dry oloroso style. Prunes, dried beef (Grisons meat)… It’s also a tad sharp so quick, water please… With water: becomes very gamy. High game (old hare ;-)), ham, duck à l’orange…

forget about what I said about the SMWS, that one wasn’t on Demerara, THIS is on Demerara. Impressive… Really, cane sugar, bananas flambéed, crystallised oranges, heavy liquorice… Did this baby mature in Georgetown, Guyana? With water: more of all that. Huge sweetness with a greenish background (chestnut honey, I often use chestnut honey in my notes, if you never tried any, you should, it’s quite a revelation I think – not because I use the descriptor of course)
