스페이사이드 발린달록의 글렌파클라스는 가족 경영과 셰리 직화 숙성으로 산지의 전통을 지켜 온 증류소다. 셰리 버트에서 48년을 보낸 1968 빈티지는 짙은 황금빛 아래 토피와 말린 무화과, 파이프 담배와 감초의 향이 겹겹이 열린다. 50.9도의 힘은 노령에도 활기차, 입에서는 카라멜과 볶은 견과, 진한 커피의 풍미가 묵직하게 입을 채운다. 여운은 길고 몰티하게 볶은 곡물과 깔루아의 단맛을 남긴다.

toffee and dried fruits galore at first nosing, pretty much what one would expect from an old Glenfarclas. Dried figs and dates, Xmas cake, huge notes of pipe tobacco and liquorice, even a little wood smoke (maybe pine cone), the whole developing more towards a little rancio and big notes of walnuts, apple peelings and dry sherry, getting finally superbly dry and leathery. A classic!
restaurant 맛 (팔레트)
the relatively low strength is no problem here, it’s rather big and powerful whisky. Starts very caramelised and rather coffeeish (sugared expresso), very malty as well, nutty, with the more and more notes of toasts, roasted nuts and fudge, getting finally drier once again. Also a little pepper and cloves. Amazingly lively and even vibrant at such old age, but a tad less complex than on the nose
