노즈에서는 1961년 증류된 글렌파클라스의 퍼스트필 올로로소에서 온 진한 건포도와 무화과, 가죽 향이 먼저 드러난다. 무려 48년을 보낸 팰럿은 다크초콜릿과 호두, 묵은 오크의 깊은 쌉쌀함이 원숙한 구조감으로 발전한다. 45.4도의 도수는 반세기에 가까운 숙성의 균형을 또렷하게 받쳐 주고, 피니시에는 말린 과일과 향신료가 길게 이어진다. 가족 경영 글렌파클라스의 셰리 명작다운 깊이가 명확하다.

sweet and grainy, less interesting at first sip. A little hot and even slightly burning, with some notes of burnt bread. The finish is rather long and again quite spirity. And to be really honest, we were only here at all because we couldn’t get tickets for New York’s hip favourites Gogol Bordello , a sort of Pogues meets the Three Mustaphas Three high energy punk outfit with an Eastern European twist, fronted by Ukranian Eugene Hutz. So instead we headed for the Mean Fiddler , a tiny aluminium door squeezed between a tacky London souvenir store and a sex shop on the Charing Cross road.
