향을 맡으면 헤더 꿀과 마른 피트 연기, 말린 과일이 앞서 다가오는 오크니 섬의 몰트다. 하이랜드 파크 1976년 빈티지를 퍼스트 캐스크가 25년 숙성으로 병입한 올드 보틀링이다. 팰럿은 꿀과 잘 익은 과일 위에 은은한 훈연과 향신료가 또렷하게 발전하며 46도다운 둥글고 부드러운 질감이 입을 감싼다. 25년 숙성이 만든 깊은 구조감과 오크니 특유의 균형 잡힌 결이 분명하고 단맛과 연기의 균형이 단단하다. 여운에서는 헤더 꿀과 옅은 연기, 말린 과일의 단맛이 길고 오래 머문다.

There is a wonderfully beguiling maltiness about the whole thing and natural sweetness that emerges as barley sugar and a kind of buttery popcorn note. With time some more medicinal aspects emerge, like wandering a hospital that’s closed down for a couple of weeks. Then greengages and fresh gooseberries

Again this wonderfully elegant balance between soft, earthy and herbal peat, mixed with gentle background medical complexities. Utterly and unequivocally HP to me. Goes on with gorse, various dried herbs, hessian, some tar liqueur, olive oil, rosewater, chocolate limes and a few cinnamon sweets. With time some notes of smouldering hay, more heathery aspects and a distant Atlantic freshness
