잔을 기울여 벽을 적시면 오래된 황금빛이 느리게 잔을 타고 내려온다. 코끝으로 가져가면 히스 꿀과 밀랍, 아주 옅은 이탄 연기가 37년 세월의 무게를 안고 피어오른다. 1966년 증류한 하이랜드 파크를 한 모금 머금으면 잘 익은 열대 과일과 오래된 오크의 부드러운 단맛이 혀 위에 번진다. 41.3도를 넘긴 뒤에는 마른 풀과 은은한 훈연이 조용히 잦아든다.
