향미 프로필
테이스팅 노트
노즈에서는 리필 셰리에서 온 마른 과일과 무화과, 금귤, 꿀이 가장 먼저 두드러진다. 셰리 몬스터는 아니지만 올리브와 소금기 같은 짭짤한 뉘앙스가 뒤따른다. 팰럿은 45.4도임에도 무게가 실려 계피와 오크, 설탕에 절인 감귤, 허니듀 멜론이 또렷하게 발전한다. 피니시는 길고 장난스러운 레몬 향이 전체를 들어올린다. 1974년 리필 셰리 벗에서 31년을 보낸 하이랜드 파크로, 오랜 숙성의 구조감이 단단하다.

it’s bigger whisky, with a kind of bigger sherriness (but it’s absolutely no sherry monster), more dried fruits, figs, kumquats, honey… The ‘official’ strength is lower but it’s got more oomph for sure, which doesn’t mean it’s ‘better’, for that matter. There’s also something more briny, with touches of olives and maybe anchovies. A very intriguing nose, I’m very curious about the palate now

once again it’s heavier than the 1976 despite the lower strength. I think the oak’s a little louder too, with more obvious cinnamon for instance, but behind that there’s a pretty wonderful range of citrus fruits, both fresh and candied, as well as these notes of honeydew that we already had in the 1976 (nope, that’s not quite heather honey).
