잔을 가까이 하면 짙은 피트 연기와 말린 과일, 요오드 향이 명확하게 드러난다. 1990년 증류된 라프로익이 셰리 버트에서 21년을 보낸 희소한 조합답게 강한 훈연과 셰리 과일이 함께 노즈를 주도한다. 56.3도의 도수가 입안을 단단하게 채우며 그을음과 건포도, 다크초콜릿의 풍미가 또렷하게 이어진다. 강한 피트와 셰리의 단맛이 부딪히며 중반의 구조를 단단하게 잡는다. 피니시는 재와 소독약 같은 약 냄새, 말린 과일이 길게 발전한다. 라프로익의 강렬한 피트에 셰리가 입혀진 보틀링이다.

powerful, almost aggressive at first nosing and rather more lemony than other ‘expressions’ at first nosing. A bag of lemon drops, with a few pear and pineapple drops thrown in for good measure. This one is full of youth despite its fairly ripe age. What’s quite interesting is that the peat and the medicinal notes remain underneath all that. Unusual!
