잔을 가볍게 흔들면 옅은 금빛 술이 잔 벽을 빠르게 미끄러져 내린다. 코끝으로 가져가면 라프로익다운 짙은 소독약과 토탄 연기, 바다 소금 향이 강하게 솟구친다. 한 모금 머금으면 호그스헤드에서 온 바닐라 단맛 위로 그을린 피트와 요오드, 후추가 거칠게 퍼진다. 스페셜티 드링크스가 병입한 이 12년 라프로익은 46도에서도 강렬하고 거친 아일라의 개성을 드러낸다. 삼킨 뒤에도 훈연과 소금기가 입안에 길게 남는다.

classic and classy salty smoky slightly eucalyptusy Laphroaig, with this leafiness (apple peelings, fresh walnuts) and then more and more salt. I guess you could call it briny. There’s some lemon too, as expected

long, on iodine, oysters, and a little pipe tobacco. Remains relatively clean despite it being first fill sherry. Grapefruits in the aftertaste
