잔을 흔들면 셰리 호그스헤드를 거친 짙은 호박빛이 천천히 잔 벽을 타고 내린다. 코를 가까이 가져가면 짙은 피트 연기와 요오드, 구운 건포도의 향이 한꺼번에 솟아오른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 58.2도의 강렬한 힘과 함께 훈연 피트와 다크초콜릿, 소독약 같은 풍미가 혀를 두드린다. 천천히 삼키면 라프로익 특유의 묵직한 스모크와 셰리 단맛이 깊게 배어 길게 남는다.

oh this is smooth and rounded, classic, clean, wonderful sherried peated whisky. No rough edges at all this time, no gunpowder, no bicycle inner tube, and no rubber bands. Smoked earth and soot plus glazed chestnuts, Corinthian raisins, dried pear rinds, and then indeed, more classic Laphroaigness managing to find its way throughout the sherry.
