아일라 중부 로크 인달의 짠 바닷바람과 1960년대 보모어 특유의 트로피컬 캐릭터가 잔 속에서 또렷이 깃들어 있다. 잔에는 짙은 호박빛이 잠잠히 잠겨 있다. 향에서는 망고와 패션프루트, 오래된 피트 연기가 천천히 올라온다. 입에서는 25년의 숙성이 빚어낸 옅은 훈연이 입천장을 천천히 덮으며 열대 과일의 단맛이 따라붙는다. 43도의 절제된 강도가 1965년 아일라 풍토의 사라진 바람을 길게 이어지는 여운으로 남긴다.

It is a different combination, rather less tropical as far as fruit are concerned, but no less wonderful. Very distant touches of Italian white truffles. Well not that distant actually, these notes of white truffles tend to come to the front. Also a great Chablis, such as this wee premier cru on the left bank that I really like in cold years, Côte de Léchet

Whether that happened in the cask, which I doubt, or in the bottle, which is most probable, well, that stunning nose went awfy awry, with notes of plastic and carboard that have really taken over. A shame because peaches and pink grapefruits are still there in the background, tr0ying to have their say
