잔에 따뜻한 황금빛이 부드럽게 어린다. 스페이사이드의 발베니가 미국산 참나무 새 오크에서 17년을 보내며 꿀과 바닐라, 잘 익은 배의 향을 그윽하게 끌어올린다. 새 나무가 더한 향신료와 구운 오크의 단내가 발베니다운 꿀 향과 겹쳐진다. 43도의 도수에 질감은 둥글고 매끄럽게 혀를 감싸며, 토피와 시나몬의 따뜻한 단맛이 천천히 번진다. 새 오크의 영향이 과하지 않게 균형을 이루며 단정하게 흐른다. 여운에는 꿀과 오크 향신료의 온기가 부드럽고 길게 이어진다.

That should have kept me away and I still wonder how and why I managed to put my hands - sorry, my ears on Electrelane 's stuning composition The Valleys , where the simplest drumbeat ever and hypnotic organ loops underline two choirs (female and male) responding to each other. Listen to it, I think it's stunning. Some loved it, some hated it. It's been finished for 6 months in some Islay casks - some say it was Ardbeg, some others say Laphroaig, and the last said it was a blend of various distilleries, including Lagavulin. Some have also argued this one isn't a single malt anymore, but rather a vatting of different distilleries. Well, let's just check what 'the glass' says
