맑은 금빛이 잔 안에 부드럽게 비친다. 1997년 원액을 오크 호그스헤드에서 11년 재운 뒤 43도로 병입한 이 맥캘란은 전형적인 스페이사이드의 과실 향을 따라간다. 향에서는 건포도와 말린 무화과, 마지팬의 단맛이 고르게 어우러진다. 입안은 잼처럼 달큰한 과실이 앞서고 무게보다는 매끄러움이 두드러지며 끝에 옅은 시럽의 질감이 남는다. 여운은 중간 길이로 단맛을 끌고 가다 조용히 잦아든다.
