테이스팅 노트
잔을 흔들면 금빛이 잔 벽에 얇은 띠를 그리며 흘러내린다. 코를 대면 새콤한 과일과 프랄린이 먼저 다가오고 태운 초콜릿과 옥수수 시럽 같은 단내가 뒤를 채운다. 한 모금을 삼키기 전 잠시 머금으면 볶은 견과와 몰트, 향신료 케이크가 순서대로 지나가고 쌉쌀한 마멀레이드가 뒤끝을 잡는다. 43도치고 바디가 제법 단단하다. 삼킨 뒤에는 나무결의 마른 느낌과 견과의 고소함이 중간 길이로 이어진다. 셰리 캐스크에서 12년을 보낸 1990년 빈티지답다.

ah? It’s lost a bit of lustre, apparently, I find it much simpler, with sour fruits and some rather ‘obvious’ praline and toasted oak. A feeling of burnt chocolate cake and corn syrup. The pecan pie and the tarte tatin are nicer, though, really curious about the palate now…

yes this is good, it’s probably the closest you can get to the older Macallan spirit, even if it’s relatively simple, and not as ‘whirling around’ as its earlier inception. Cakes, roasted nuts, malt, praline, spicy cake, bitter marmalade. Good body, the lower strength doesn’t quite feel
