오랜 세월이 응축된 짙은 호박빛이 잔 깊이 잠겨 있다. 1968년 증류해 35년을 보낸 맥캘란은 잘 익은 오렌지와 말린 무화과, 오크의 향이 천천히 겹겹이 피어오른다. 아메리칸 오크가 더한 바닐라와 꿀이 혀를 부드럽게 감싸고, 40.2도의 낮은 도수가 모든 풍미를 둥글게 다듬는다. 긴 시간이 남긴 우아함이 한 모금마다 또렷하다. 여운에는 마른 과일과 은은한 향신료가 길게 이어진다.

definitely drier, much less on dried fruits, more herbal, with notes of hay and cut grass, some nuts, though we’re not really finding any of that ‘peat’ character you sometimes get in immediate post-war Macallans. Still, there’s a lovely beeswax note
