백포도주처럼 맑은 빛깔이 잔에 담겨 있다. 리필 배럴에서 스무 해를 보낸 향은 기름지고 통통해서 보리의 단내가 중심을 잡고 해바라기 같은 노란 꽃과 오렌지가 그 위에 얹힌다. 46도의 입 안은 버터 크림과 커스터드처럼 부드럽게 풀리며 카모마일과 꿀, 촉촉한 버터 케이크가 차례로 지나간다. 셰리 없이 자란 옛 매캘런이 얼마나 유순할 수 있는지 보여 주는 1989년 빈티지다. 여운은 길고 기름지며 꿀을 섞은 해바라기유의 감촉이 오래 남는다.
