잔을 코끝에 가져가면 담뱃잎과 함께 낯선 당밀 향이 먼저 다가온다. 흔들어 향을 더 열면 데운 채소 같은 무거운 결이 섞여 독특한 인상을 만든다. 40도의 한 모금을 머금으면 갓 구운 빵과 오렌지 꽃이 뚜렷하게 살아나고 사탕수수즙과 투론이 뒤를 채운다. 삼키면 프랄린과 진저브레드가 중간 길이로 이어진다. 셰리 피니시를 거친 이 1997년 보틀링은 낮은 도수에도 개성이 뚜렷하다.

really very good, I’d have loved to find this at 46 or 50% (the whisky taster’s usual lament). Excellent bread and orange blossom, with a little cane juice (but still not sure there was some rum involved), candy sugar, perfect notes of ale, turron and crushed pecans, and just some good, solid bread. What’s better than good bread?
