잔을 천천히 돌린 뒤 코를 대면 꿀에 절인 과일과 오리엔탈 향신료, 밀랍, 초콜릿 같은 셰리가 극도로 정제된 결로 겹겹이 피어오른다. 1976 빈티지 맥캘란을 18년 재운 43도의 원액은 고전적인 깊이를 그대로 지녔다. 한 모금 머금으면 건포도와 커피, 복숭아와 키르슈가 살짝 흙내를 두르며 혀를 채운다. 삼킨 뒤에는 커피와 다크 초콜릿, 은은한 장미의 잔향이 우아하게 남아 오래 이어진다.
