맑은 황금빛이 잔에 은은하게 어린다. 매캘런 12년은 코끝에서 오렌지 케이크와 복숭아 잼, 쇼트브레드 같은 가벼운 향을 낸다. 오트밀과 옅은 와인, 버터 크림의 뉘앙스가 이어지지만 다소 어린 기운도 함께 스친다. 40도의 입안에서는 풀과 잘 익은 사과, 몰트의 고소함이 가볍게 번지며 얇은 바디를 보인다. 여운은 짧지만 몰트의 온기가 깔끔하게 남는다.
