짙은 황금빛이 잔 안에 온화하게 고인 맥캘란 12년 트리플 캐스크는 세 가지 캐스크의 결이 겹쳐진 스페이사이드의 정석이다. 향은 잎사귀 같은 허브 셰리 위로 호두와 마멀레이드, 잘 익은 사냥고기의 뉘앙스가 층을 이룬다. 입에서는 건포도와 오렌지 마멀레이드, 프루트케이크와 씁쓸한 홍차가 이어지고 풋호두의 떫은 기운이 스친다. 40도의 부드러운 몸을 지나 풀 내음이 감도는 긴 여운으로 마무리된다.

full sherry maturation but it's rather a leafy and sightly herbal sherry, with walnuts, marmalade and a slight gamey side. High grouse. I'm also finding some leafier honey, such as green oak honeydew, which is excellent by the way. Touches of burnt raisins and a hint of rubber. Nutshell, it is a nice nose, pretty complex, but the truth hides on the palate, as usual

raisins, orange marmalade, hint of liquorice, fruitcake and bitter teas. Green walnuts, nocino… Just like last time, I'm finding a little too much spicy rubber, was this new European oak prior to the seasoning with sherry?
