잔을 천천히 흔들면 맑은 황금빛이 윤기 있게 잔 안에서 일렁인다. 코끝으로 가져가면 카올 일라답게 레몬과 바닷내음 위로 잘 정제된 훈연이 부드럽게 솟아오른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 1984년 증류해 서른 해를 보낸 원액답게 기름진 보리와 시트러스의 산미가 혀를 미끄러지듯 따라가고 54.6도의 기운이 옅은 재의 향을 끌어 올린다. 삼키면 짭짤한 연기와 마른 풀의 단맛이 길게 따라온다.
