맑은 옅은 금빛이 잔 속에 투명하게 잠겨 있다. 버번 호그스헤드에서 27년을 보낸 1982년 카올 일라는 오랜 숙성으로 둥글어진 피트 연기와 잘 익은 배, 바닷소금의 향을 우아하게 피워 올린다. 한 모금 머금으면 그을린 보리와 레몬, 매끄러운 오일리함이 입안을 채우고 62.4도가 강하게 밀어붙인다. 여운에는 옅은 재와 짭짤한 미네랄, 시트러스가 길게 이어지며 노숙성 카올 일라의 우아한 스모크를 남긴다.
