잔을 흔들면 금빛 술이 무겁게 잔 벽을 감고 천천히 흘러내린다. 코를 가져가면 젖은 켈프와 타르, 녹차에 띄운 레몬 조각 같은 향이 한꺼번에 밀려오고 백단향과 가느다란 피트 연기가 그 사이를 지난다. 물을 몇 방울 떨어뜨리면 갓 다린 리넨과 소독약 쪽으로 결이 바뀐다. 한 모금 머금으면 62도의 힘이 훈제 파프리카와 미소, 요오드로 터지며 입천장을 천천히 덮는다. 삼킨 뒤에도 기름진 타르와 훈연이 오래 남아 쉽게 물러서지 않는다.
