잔을 흔들면 짙은 금빛 아래에서 성냥을 그은 듯한 유황 냄새가 먼저 새어 나온다. 코를 가져가면 건초와 가죽, 트러플 같은 무거운 향이 이어지고 물을 더하면 금속성이 오히려 강해진다. 한 모금 머금으면 가죽과 쇠붙이의 기운이 앞을 막아서서 쉽게 열리지 않고, 탄 나무와 마른 콩 같은 맛이 뒤에 남는다. 리필 호그스헤드에서 19년을 보냈지만 취향을 크게 타는 성격이다. 여운은 중간 길이로 가죽 쪽에 머문다.
