잔을 가볍게 흔들면 짙은 적갈색이 잔 안쪽에 깊게 잠겨 있다. 잔을 코끝에 가져가면 켄터키 버번 특유의 바닐라와 캐러멜 향이 먼저 마중하고 곧이어 사이다 캐스크 피니시의 사과 콤포트가 따라 올라온다. 8년 숙성의 어린 활기와 53.5도 알코올이 향을 단단히 받쳐 올린다. 한 모금을 머금으면 메이플 시럽과 구운 옥수수의 단맛이 입천장을 천천히 덮는다. 사이다 캐스크의 청량한 산미가 균형을 잡는다. 삼킨 뒤 따라가는 여운에서 구운 사과와 흑설탕이 길게 머문다.

oh, great! There are so many spirits that would need more oomph (such as the weak tequilas at 38% and so on.) They should watch Louis Royer. Excellent arrival, bold, not totally void of any hints at malt whisky, with plenty of peaches and raisins plus oranges, plums and pineapples. It’s also rather spicier than its lighter sibling, with more pepper. Reminds me a bit of some older bottlings of Macallan. Really! With water: I managed to recreate the 40%. That’s smart
