호그스헤드에서 30년을 보낸 긴 시간이 이 카올 일라의 연기를 둥글게 다듬어 놓았다. 오랜 숙성 덕에 코끝에는 옅은 장작 연기와 레몬, 바닷바람의 짠 내음이 선명하게 드러난다. 입에서는 그을린 맥아의 고소함과 후추, 미네랄이 부드럽게 흐르고 세월이 깎은 단맛이 뒤를 받친다. 53도의 도수 위로 재와 해초의 여운이 길게 드리운다.
