잔을 코앞에 가져가면 1965년 글렌로키가 38년을 보낸 시간이 마른 잎과 옅은 오렌지 껍질 향으로 먼저 인사한다. 잔을 천천히 돌리면 42.3도의 낮은 출력답게 부드럽고 가는 알코올 기가 따라 올라온다. 한 모금을 머금으면 더글라스 레잉의 올드 앤 레어 시리즈다운 우아한 마른 과일과 약한 송진의 흐름이 입천장 위에서 천천히 풀린다. 삼킨 뒤에는 사라진 하이랜드 증류소가 남긴 가는 흙 향이 입안에 오래 깃들어 있다.
