테이스팅 노트
잔을 흔든 뒤 코를 가져가면 쓴 오렌지와 생강에 피트를 가둬 놓은 듯한 달고 진한 향이 먼저 온다. 캐러웨이 씨앗의 매콤한 결도 함께 올라온다. 한 모금 머금으면 후추와 피트가 뜨겁게 밀고 들어와 물을 부르고 물을 더하면 제비꽃 사탕과 블랙베리 잼 같은 부드러운 단맛이 열린다. 1989년 버번 캐스크에서 9년을 보낸 이 보틀링은 도수보다 향의 밀도가 앞선다. 삼킨 뒤에는 후추와 껌 같은 과일 향이 나란히 남는다.

punchy, really candied, as if the peat was encapsulated in bitter oranges and ginger. Loads of caraway as well. No strawberries or blackcurrants so far. With water: here come the flowers (peonies, lilies) and Bowmore’s classic ‘coastal peatiness’. Still no straight winey fruitiness and that’s good news. Certainly not first fill Port! Much, much nicer with water

hot and pungent, but the profile is very nice. Peat, pepper and Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit bubblegum. Water is obligatory. With water: almost classic Bowmore now, with notes of violet sweets that may come either from the spirit or from the Port. Or from both. Blackberry jam, mild peat and soft spices
