테이스팅 노트
짙은 적갈색이 잔 안에 무겁게 잠겨 있다. 11년이라는 표기가 무색할 만큼 어두운 셰리의 결이 두껍고, 말린 무화과와 모과 위로 연기가 천천히 겹친다. 초콜릿과 프룬, 검은 감초의 타르 같은 쓴맛이 이어지다 유칼립투스의 서늘한 약재 향이 코를 정리한다. 43도의 입질은 부드럽지만 밀도는 높아 잼과 카다멈, 씹는담배가 빽빽하게 들어찬다. 여운은 오래된 포트 와인처럼 달고 길게 남는다.

holy crow! The same figs/quince/smoke notes as in the Duncan Taylor but with an added layer of the driest and most wonderful kind of sherry. Chocolate, macchiato and prunes. Even more smoke than in the Duncan Taylor after a while. Also a wonderful tar (and strong black liquorice), and finally mint and hints of eucalyptus, that make it a little medicinal (embrocations). Wowie!

this is an immense whisky, no doubt, even if it’s huge concentration may put off a few newbies. Where to start? The jams (strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants)? The spices (cardamom)? Herbs (coriander and dill)? Dried fruits (prunes)? Chewing tobacco? Salmiak? Old orange liqueur? Else? A headache, I tell you. Fantastic mouth feel provided you’re not afraid of, well, concentration.
