잔을 가까이 하면 폐쇄 증류소 글렌 알빈 1974 빈티지 특유의 묵은 곡물과 옅은 셰리, 마른 풀이 가장 먼저 두드러진다. 26년 숙성이 만든 정련된 결이 또렷이 깃들어 있다. 팰럿에서는 50도가 균형을 잡으며 꿀, 마지팬, 옅은 향신료가 명확하게 드러난다. 사라진 하이랜드 증류소의 결이 발전한다. 피니시는 길고 마른 곡물과 옅은 오크가 깊게 머문다.

very pure, very mineral, with a delicate coastal-type smoke and some wonderful notes of bananas and guavas. A lot of chalk too, whiffs of menthol and pine resin, also yellow peaches, also chardonnay. Around the Montrachets, if you really need an area. Indeed, top-notch wine-malt. With water: perfect zing. Actually more a Sancerre-type of very chalky wine. splendidly medicinal and mineral, with crystallised citrus and zests plus a perfect 'resinous' smoke. Stunning tightness, this one never loses focus. We'll call it Leica (ha-ha). With water: waxes in force and lemon zests. And yet it's rather fat, deeply textured malt whisky. Hope they haven't broken the mould and that future GGs will come close to this style again.
