테이스팅 노트
잔을 코끝에 대면 도수가 낮은 만큼 둥글고 과실이 앞서 바나나와 오래된 화이트 와인 같은 향이 다가온다. 젤리빈 같은 단내도 스치는데 요즘 카올 일라보다 연기는 확실히 옅다. 한 모금을 머금으면 레몬과 레몬그라스, 덜 익은 구스베리가 팽팽하게 터지고 흑연과 자갈 같은 미네랄이 따라온다. 삼킨 뒤에는 쌉쌀한 허브와 아몬드 오일이 남는다. 43도의 17년이 보여주는 옛 스타일이다.

It’s big, extremely lemony and zesty, with some lemongrass, unripe gooseberries, then some hessian, graphite, a feeling of gravel… The whole’s a tad shaky, perhaps, less well-defined than modern bottlings, but it’s got some dazzling sparks of medicinalness (come on!) Almond oil and lemons, more hessian, a touch of chalk, some bitter herbs, peels and leaves… I’d have thought it would be an easy dram – it’s not
