잔을 천천히 돌리면 로우랜드의 글렌킨치가 맑은 황금빛으로 흔들린다. 코끝으로 가져가면 새로 그을린 호그스헤드가 남긴 잘 익은 배와 바닐라, 갓 벤 풀 향이 부드럽게 올라온다. 한 모금 머금으면 50.6도가 둥글게 퍼지며 시트러스와 꿀, 가벼운 향신료가 번진다. 16년을 보낸 로우랜드 원액답게 가볍고 화사한 결이 또렷하다. 천천히 삼키면 잘 익은 과일과 꿀이 입안에 오래 머문다.

Whether Glenkinchie’s distillate is big enough to stand such treatment is to be seen… once water’s been added. With water: no, we’re okay, sure the oak is loud and the spirit a little weak, but this has been composed with care. Nutshell: it is not just oak juice
