1991년에 병입된 이 1977년 카올 일라는 세월에 맞게 부드러워진 얼굴을 보여준다. 잔의 빛깔은 옅은 금빛이다. 향에서는 연필심과 석탄 먼지가 먼저 오고 무른 사과와 타르트 타탱의 조린 단맛이 이어진다. 오래된 책과 아마인유의 냄새가 그 사이에 잔잔히 잠겨 있다. 입에서는 왁스 같은 질감 위로 절제된 훈연이 흐르며 풋사과의 신맛이 균형을 잡는다. 여운은 길지 않으나 정갈하고 마지막에 풋호두의 떫은 기운이 스친다.

we find the Caol Ila smoke, accompanied by slightly green apples and again, waxes. It's not extremely maritime, but the smoke is definitely present. It then becomes a bit cardboard-like, but that's the fate of many old malts bottled at 40% ABV, even more so when they have been (slightly) darkened with caramel
timer 피니시
a bit short but very clean, with green walnuts tickling the back of your palate. Like in the early sherried ones we tasted!
