잔을 흔들자마자 타르와 켈프, 이탄 연기가 한꺼번에 밀려 나와 코를 채운다. 조금 더 맡으면 부싯돌과 굴, 바닷물 사이로 스피어민트의 서늘함이 끼어든다. 59.9도를 한 모금 머금으면 아몬드와 송진, 캠퍼와 오래된 레몬 리큐어가 겹겹이 터진다. 1969년 증류액을 1986년에 병입한 이 위스키는 삼킨 뒤 이탄과 소금, 감초가 이어져 좀처럼 물러나지 않는다.
