노즈는 전형적인 캐올 일라의 문법을 따른다. 중간 강도의 피트와 버터, 갓 자른 사과와 귤의 인상이 차례로 두드러지고 바닷바람과 굴을 연상시키는 짠 기운이 뒤따른다. 팰럿에서는 감초와 연기, 과일 샐러드와 마지팬이 이어지다 시간이 지날수록 재의 성격이 강해진다. 53.8도의 힘이 과일과 미네랄 사이를 오가게 만든다. 피니시는 길고 건조하며 군더더기 없이 피트가 정리된다. 1984년 빈티지를 25년 지켜본 레어 올드 시리즈의 정공법이다.
