잔을 코앞으로 들어올리면 마른 짚과 오래된 종이 냄새가 먼저 배어나온다. 조금 흔들어주면 젖은 흙과 백묵 가루가 연기와 뒤섞이고, 아마인유와 박하가 그 끝을 스친다. 56.6도의 원액을 한 모금 머금으면 힘이 앞서기보다 사과와 연하게 우린 차의 결이 먼저 혀에 닿는다. 삼키면 1981년 증류액의 여운이 길게 늘어지지는 않지만, 담백한 재와 광물감이 또렷이 깃들어 있다.

weaker, quite tired, on apples and lightly infused tea. Cardboard. Too bad. Very short finish. Very nice nose but almost no palate I’m afraid. 72 points . Caol Ila 1968 (57%, Samaroli, oval label, 1980's)
