노즈에서는 글렌 스페이 특유의 깔끔한 보리 단내와 잘 익은 사과, 바닐라 향이 먼저 두드러진다. 버번 호그스헤드가 코코넛과 마른 풀의 질감을 단정하게 더한다. 입에서는 53.3도의 도수가 시트러스와 보리 단맛, 옅은 향신료를 단단하게 밀어 올린다. 피니시는 마른 오크와 맥아 단맛이 잔잔히 이어진다. 17년 스몰 배치다운 투명하고 정돈된 스파이사이드의 구조가 또렷하다.
