잔을 흔들어 향을 깨우면 백포도주에 가까운 옅은 빛이 먼저 눈에 들어온다. 코를 가져가면 사과 주스와 배 사탕 같은 단내가 앞서고 몇 초 뒤에야 재와 연기, 짭조름한 바다 냄새가 따라 올라온다. 리필 벗에서 16년을 보낸 이 위스키를 한 모금 머금으면 훈연한 허브와 솔 시럽, 생강 리큐어가 두꺼운 질감으로 흐른다. 삼키고 나면 후추가 살아나 달큰한 고추 같은 매운맛이 길게 이어진다.

the exact opposite of the nose, even if it’s still quite sweet and almost sugary. Smoked herbs, fish, pine syrup, ginger liqueur… It’s all quite thick and sweet – not sickly sweet!
