잔을 가볍게 흔들면 33년을 보낸 카올일라의 옅은 황금빛이 잔 벽을 따라 흘러내린다. 잔을 코끝에 가져가면 누그러진 페놀 연기와 짭조름한 바닷바람, 잘 익은 레몬 껍질 향이 인사한다. 50.1도의 한 모금을 머금으면 더글라스 랭의 리필 호그스헤드가 바닐라와 약한 그릴드 베이컨, 흰 후추를 입천장에 부드럽게 비춘다. 삼킨 뒤에는 아일라의 옅은 짠맛이 길게 따라온다.
