잔을 흔들면 밀랍과 파라핀이 먼저 코에 닿고 잘 익다 못해 무른 사과, 고둥과 조개가 뒤를 잇는다. 이탄은 거의 사라질 듯 부드럽게 깔려 있다. 50도를 한 모금 머금으면 둥글고 꿀 같은 왁스질이 입안을 채우면서도 씹히는 힘이 남아 있다. 물을 조금 더하면 재와 소금물, 올리브, 해양성 훈연이 다시 돌아온다. 1984년 증류해 18년을 보낸 이 위스키는 삼킨 뒤 굴과 재, 레몬 위로 밀랍이 다시 떠오른다.
