잔을 가볍게 흔들면 옅은 황금빛이 맑게 잔 벽을 적신다. 코끝에 가져가면 36년이라는 긴 세월에 누그러진 카올 일라의 부드러운 피트 연기와 레몬, 바다 소금 향이 섬세하게 올라온다. 한 모금 머금으면 오랜 숙성이 다듬은 매끈한 질감이 혀를 적시고 52.3도의 기운이 왁스와 옅은 훈연을 밀어 올린다. 삼키고 나면 은은한 재와 시트러스가 길게 잦아든다.

Oh and it does smell of ‘a dunnage warehouse on Islay’. With water: new tyres and fisherman’s ropes. Some lamp or graphite oil as well
