거의 무색에 가까운 옅은 빛이 작은 잔 안에 담긴다. 카데헤즈가 검은 라벨로 내놓은 이 열 살 카올일라는 젖은 백묵과 라임즙, 덜 익은 구스베리의 향이 팽팽하게 조여 있어 연기조차 뚫고 나오기 어렵다. 60.4도의 입에서는 레몬즙과 풋사과, 멘톨과 재가 날카롭게 지나간다. 물을 더하면 훈연한 리몬첼로처럼 둥글어진다. 여운은 길고 배 시럽의 단맛이 뒤늦게 남는다.

a little newmakey but since Caol Ila's a perfect distillate, we shan't file a complaint. Lemon juice, granny smith, a touch of menthol, oysters and seawater, ashes. With water: I may have used this around two hundred times already, but I'll say 'smoked limoncello'. Gets really rounder and sweeter after water's been added, perhaps a wee tad simplistic now
